The City of Ottawa’s Festival of Lights parade will be Friday, November 29, 2024 at 6 p.m. Anyone wishing to enter a unit in the parade is asked to complete the following information and return it to: City of Ottawa, 301 W. Madison Street, Ottawa, IL 61350, Attention: Rich Crum or email it to: [email protected] Any questions please call 815-557-6491or email [email protected] PLEASE NOTE: 1. Units in the parade will be limited to not-for-profit entries only. Decorated entries must have a holiday theme. We ask that you do not have a Santa or Mrs. Claus character with your entry since they will be joining us for the parade. 2. No commercial or political entries will be allowed. 3. Pick-up trucks and cars, with no commercial logos, will only be allowed if they are used to pull a float. 4. There will be NO passing out of candy along the parade route. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. Anyone caught passing out candy along the parade route will not be invited to participate in following Festival of Lights Parades. 5. The parade line up/staging area will be on Jackson St (between Roxy Theater and American Legion). Entries may begin lining up between 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. All entries are to be in place by 5:30 p.m. 6. The Parade Coordinator and Special Events Committee reserves the right to reject any entry considered unsafe or in poor taste. Entry deadline is Friday, November 1, 2024. One person from each entry must check in with parade officials by 5:30 p.m. at parade staging area.

A copy of Certificate of Liability Insurance is required for every vehicle properly insured with at least $300,000.00 in coverage.

As required by the City of Ottawa proof of insurance is needed for each vehicle participating in the parade. A copy of your insurance card should be provided with the entry form. The undersigned does hereby release, acquit and discharge, now and in the future, the City of Ottawa, Illinois, its offices, agents, council, employees and other representatives and all promoters, participants, vendors, sponsors and their agents from all present and future liability, claims, causes of action, lawsuits, damages, legal remedies known and unknown arising out of any and all activity and conduct, active and passive, of the participants in any way related or incidental to the Festival of Lights Parade on November 29, 2024.
