The American Discovery Trail is a system of interconnected trails (local, state, & national) that ranges from California to Delaware. To celebrate the nation’s 250th birthday, a relay will take place along the trail. On October 9, relay participants from LaSalle will make their way through Ottawa, along the I&M Canal trail.

As part of the 250th celebration, the ADT Society’s relay features a baton carrying a copy of the Declaration of Independence, that will make its way from coast-to-coast. Participants are expected to be in Ottawa after 2.
