How To: The Holiday Season in Ottawa

Winter brings out a whole new side of Ottawa, with plenty of exciting events to enjoy as the temperatures drop!

Ottawa is well known for the Chris Kringle Market, a favorite of both locals and tourists alike! This open-air market is full of a wide variety of vendors. You can find anything from snacks to clothing, to art and so much more. It’s the perfect opportunity to grab a gift for a loved one, or a present to treat yourself! While you’re at the market, you can visit Santa and Mrs. Claus too! The Chris Kringle Market is open Fridays Through Sundays beginning November 29th and going through December 22nd. Christmas Candlelight Open House at the Reddick Mansion & the General Wallace House

On December 6th and 13th, get into the holiday spirit with a special look at two historic homes in Ottawa. The Reddick Mansion Association and Mr. and Mrs. Jay McCracken present a Christmas Candlelight tour of the Reddick Mansion and General Wallace House. These tours offer a unique, festive looks at pieces of local history. The halls of each home will be decked for the holiday! No reservations are necessary. Stop by the Reddick Mansion first to purchase tickets before going to the Oaks. Refreshments will be served at the Reddick Mansion.

 

Merry Everything Holiday Home Tour

The Merry Everything Holiday Home Tour (Dec. 7) is a self-guided tour of four gorgeous homes in and around Ottawa. The Reddick Mansion is also included in this tour, giving guests a wide array of tastefully decorated houses to explore. For those dedicated decorators out there, you won’t want to miss out on these inspirational homes! Presale tickets are $25, or $30 at the door. Check-in begins at the Marquette Academy Elementary campus from 2:45pm to 5:30pm. For more rules or to purchase tickets, you can check out their website.
